I received an email from him and he thanked me for friending him. I remember emailing him back and telling him I liked his name...(it's also my older brothers name) he didn't catch that part at first, and then he emailed me back saying he liked mine as well...we had chemistry from the start!
My father was diagnosed with ALS in the spring of 09, he had been through a battery of tests. His first symptoms were muscle twitching and he was extremely tired and depressed. If you knew my father you would know without a shadow of a doubt something was wrong, as he never sat down during the day. He could out work someone half his age! Of course I was Google-ing all of his symptoms, it came up with ALS and I never mentioned it to my mom as it was the worse case scenario. ALS affects everyone differently to start. My father's disease mainly affected his breathing. He died August 23, 2010.
During this time, David had been explaining things that could help him, and of course he was there for me. He invited me to a fundraiser they were having for him at his church. I decided to go and meet this incredible man in person! More tomorrow!!

How it all started! (part 1)
There's always a beginning, and I thought that's where I should start! Make sense? I thought so! I first have to say a few things, about the blog that is...I will be totally honest, and maybe tell you more than you'd like to hear, but it's not only for myself but for you and maybe just maybe it might help someone out there in our same situation. You see this is our family and families are very different than what our parents and grandparents had. We have a blended family and both my husband and myself have been married more than once.
Once upon a time...you see our story is a fairy tale a modern one that is...our relationship started online, actually on facebook. My father had been recently diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrigs disease) and I was searching for hope and any information I could get from individuals with ALS or loved ones with it. I had become friends with a few and learned there was no hope, no treatment and nothing they could do for my father!
I had been getting a lot of friend requests from friends on fb with ALS in common and I had a friend request from a man with ALS, David Jayne. I looked at his photos and found him very attractive both before his disease and after. I accepted his friend request. If my memory serves me correct he emailed me privately thanking me for adding him as a friend on fb. Thus the story begins...It's late folks and I promise to continue tomorrow!
